Guild Wars for Xbox 360/ PS3
they need to do this
so many people would buy it and there are so many advantages to it...
Full Xbox Live integration
Rather than have separate friends lists for the game and for Xbox Live, link the two together so you can see what your Live friends are doing. Similarly, have the MMO provide a series of achievements to boost your gamerscore--anything from hitting the maximum level to logging a certain number of hours or defeating a particular boss.
Sensible fees
One problem with existing MMO models as ported to the 360 is monthly charging--as Xbox Live already charges, scrap the game's monthly fee altogether. Instead, use an optional micropayment model based on Microsoft Points to unlock content or, if the economy is designed well, convert points into in-game cash.
Voice power
Provide multiple multi-person private voice channels, allowing quest parties, guilds and friends to converse together, and allow them to be created automatically--for example, when a party is formed. Provide good-quality voice transforms to allow players to gender-bend their voice as well as their avatar.
Console friendly
With a clear interface that's easy to read on a normal television, and an input system designed with the Xbox 360 controller in mind, an MMO on the 360 must remember what platform it's on. No scrolling lines of indecipherable text--no hard-drive install--take a leaf out of console RPGs' design and keep it simple.
Fight! Fight!
Take advantage of the immediacy of the console to make fighting more interactive, requiring input from the user such as pressing the right trigger to slash a sword. Auto-attack should still be an option, however. Clever use of shoulder buttons, ABXY and the D-pad should mean a large set of abilities can be invoked during combat. PvP should be fast-moving, skill-based and integrated into every level of the game.
Interoperability
Let 360 players game with their PC buddies, let international players group together, and address problems of platform equality (for example, it's easier to hack game files on a PC client) from the very start.

There are some things Xbox can't do. Fable? Pretty good on the Xbox. Fable on the PC? Twice as nice and with lots of extra polish. I think it would be a major flop, and with ArenaNet short on programmers, trying to create Guild Wars 2, and more recently, getting ready for the last expansion pack, this proposed project would be the final weight to crush their backs.

well it would be possible to make it.. and with the texting keyboard coming out they could somehow incorporate it into the game adding another like 41 buttons + additional ones with a fn type button pushed or shift which you wouldnt even need all of them. another thing is not many people enjoy sitting at their computer for such a long time and would rather have a controller out on their leather couch with it reclined watching himself dominate on the projection screen!
I know i would buy it and im sure millions of others would too

no i wont forget it...they should go through with this..to beat other mmos. Age of conan hyborian adventures is coming out soon and if they brought the original guild wars out b4 that it would crush their competition..and they could sell the expansions on xbox live with microsoft points. they already have the code, all they would have to do is change some controls and set it to the system format and change other small things

They will never make GW into any other plataform.
Not Linux, nor Mac, neither Consoles.
I seriously doubt any plans about such a thing.
Fable, Oblivion, even Phantasy Star Online. They were waaay better on PC.

Weh, I tried to play it with my gamepad. I could with Fable, I couldn't with Oblivion, it was annoying. Not a single crash, by the way.

No, no, no. That would be very bad, some things the 360 and the Ps3 can't do.

No. Just the separation between PC program voice users and 360 voice users would be enough to say 'no' to this.
Anet will never add own voice servers, and much less 360 Live compatible.

The chat will never work. It's hard enough already to understand what people are saying when there's 10 people in a game. MMO's just aren't meant to be on 360/PS3.

To ArenaNet my agreement why:
I know a way you can do this
You can use the ps2 keyboard to have the same keys and functions as the game on the pc
Use the ps2 mic for the game it costs 13.99 at my local store my old one lasted 3 years took well good care of it. Well worth the buy.
Maybe Sony would come out with a ps2 mouse or something like that
and it'd make it a lot easier for those people who don't have a lot of space on there computer so instead of using a computer they use a PS2
Or ArenaNet could come out with a system that allows you to play all 3 campaigns in 1 harddrive have automactic saving features right when you log off like Guild Wars on PC, Hard Drive, High quality graphics, & prices around 130.00$.

I thought about this as well, but...
The biggest obstacle will be the controls...
Obviously the controllers for the game platforms are not as versatile as the Keyboard + Mouse.

I think it would work under the condition that they made it a single player game and altered it in some manner to fit with the new setting. I don't think that a port of the current game or GW2 would be a great idea. For instance yes you could have a VOIP server just for the game, but you'd still have problems talking to the non-voip people without a keyboard, as well as having a ton of problems with the commands.

Consoles dumb down RPG's way too often. I'll seriously reconsider my hope in Anet if they ever release a GW title for Xbox 360
or PS3

What is the possibility of Guild Wars appearing on other platforms?

Right now, for online games, it's all about PC. That's where the online gamers really are.
If that changes, though, then we're ready. All of our technology is developed in an engine-agnostic format; we can very quickly plug in the client component for different platforms. Certainly, all the back-end technology, the server technology, doesn't care what the host platform is at all, so we could very easily do versions of our games that inter-operate across different platforms.
we're keeping an eye on the technology - but we love console games, and I'd love to see Guild Wars on an Xbox or a PlayStation 3.
